Have you heard about our Pilot Laundry-Tec marker (Figure 1)?
Labelling school uniform items clearly and durably is particularly important in the warmer terms. Swimming and athletics are happening, and hoodies come off regularly. Even now with the weather cooling, older kids still change for PE regularly during the school day, or take outerwear on and off during cold and rainy days.
These pens would also be handy for labelling clothing items in many other settings such as care homes and sport trips.
The Laundry-Tec is a Hi-Tecpoint rollerball pen specially designed for marking textiles, using wash-resistant ink. The ink is set by ironing for 1 minute on cotton setting.
I first discovered these pens when buying school uniform items. The office staff whipped out one of these pens and named the shirts and shorts as I was paying.
The name was clearer, easier to write and lasted longer in the wash than my usual ballpoint or sharpie pens and didn’t run.
For my family, the primary use for this pen will be labelling school uniform items. However, I will also use it to make my own sewing labels on occasion (Figure 2).
I have used Pilot’s Pintor paint markers to make sewing labels as well. They come in a range of colours and tip sizes and can be used on fabric as well as a number of other surfaces.
Paint markers are great for drawing, decorating, calligraphy, art and crafts and DIY projects. Like the Laundry-Tec marker, they also should be ironed to set the ink.
